Is The HIV RNA PCR Test Conclusive After 10 Days Of Exposure?
Question: Hello doctor , sorry to bother you again .
I asked you a question a few days ago regarding my situation.
I had unprotected sex on 6th XXXXXXX (only vaginal sex and my first and only unprotected sex) the girl had multiple partners before ! She does claim to be clean and uninfected by anything. Her last unprotected sex was on 15th feb (I AM NOT SURE IF ITS 100% true) . She took the rapid hiv antibody test on 9th XXXXXXX and it was negative.
I took the qualitative hiv rna test on 10th day post exposure ( precisely 9 days and 12 hours ) .
Negative
I took a rapid hiv antibody 1/2 test on 24th day( negative ) .
I know both my tests are in the window period .
You previously said that the rna tests are 99% accurate at this point but i dont know why reading posts from other doctors on the same website i am getting different answers and beliefs.
Im gonna take the duo test on day 30 but i am just bothering you again out of anxiety !
Thank you !
