Brief Answer: hi and welcome to hcm Detailed Answer: Thanks for the query. It would be smarter to have surgery which is in most cases permanent solution and today it is simple procedure with minimal complications and quick postoperative recovery. It can be also done under local anasthesia. Hernias, when occur, always have tendency to grow more or less and if left untreated it may become incarcerated and cause serious consequances. support belt is just symptomatic therapy,it will reduce risk of complications and prevent pain but it wont heald hernia or slow down its progression. Also it is not comfortable to wear it. Decsion is up to you,but as i said, surgical repair is definitely the best option and if hernia is still small it will be more simple procedure. Wish you good health. Regards
