Question: I got singles on Thursday. In trying to catch it they prescribed three times a day for seven days Valacyclovir.
Can I pass it on in the office?

Hello dear,

Shingles is characterized by reactivation of latent zoster virus in our nerve roots.
It can be transmitted to nearby contacts. But, unlike chickenpox, transmission occur only through fluid in the lesions and not through respiratory droplets.

So it is better to avoid contact with others for initial 5 days.

Also, give adequate rest to your body, have a healthy diet rich in fruits and veges.
