Is Reversal Of Memory Loss Possible Post Lyrica Withdrawal?

default
Posted on Wed, 9 Nov 2016
Question: Will normal memory and concentration return if I discontinue Lyrica? I take 100 mg daily and find myself forgetting even simple words in the middle of a sentence. I have been on Lyrica for 3 months for leg and back pain. Dr said the pain was probably caused by scar tissue from previous back fusion 3 years ago. Lyrica has helped with that pain but has caused serious problems with focus, concentration and short term memory loss.

Brief Answer:
I think we need to look for other causes of memory loss

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Health care magic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

If it was due to lyrica the things will be corrected within two weeks but I feel the short term memory loss could be due to other factors and you need to discuss same with your doctor during next appointment.

This is because I have rarely observed serious short term memory loss in my patients with lyrica.

I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards.
