Brief Answer:
An EKG should be done

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. Thank you for your question.

Well, there are some physiological states where the heart rate can go up to the standard formula 220 age (in your case, 151 beats per minute), such as vigorous physical activity, excess psychological stress, consuming caffeine or alcohol, or both etc. If this is the case, then the best is to wait for the culprit agent to go away. Also, if you are on beta-blockers (such as atenolol, metoprolol, propranolol), take half of the pill now, so that your pulse rate will be controllet to some point, hopefully to normal levels.

However, a heart beat of 146 beats per minute is not normal, when persists for some time and when the upper-mentioned suspects are not present. Therefore, some clearing should be done, if this is a regular or an irregular rhythm. My recommendation is for you to go to the emergency room and have an EKG done, as an approach to assess the heart rate and see what kind of rhythm this is. It is very good that an echo cardiogram is going to be conducted on Thursday, so that the heart's structures and valves can be thoroughly evaluated. Depending on the results of your previous stress test, echo cardiogra and the EKG, certain diagnostic and treatment procedures may be recommended.

I hope I was helpful. I am happy to help, if you have follow up questions.

Kind regards,
Dr. Meriton
