Question: hi I had ipill within 48 hours of unprotected sex and within a week I am having periods is it normal also does it mean I was pregnant and I aborted and does it ensure I won't conceive so there are 3 questions in all

last date of my period was 23rd April I was regular with them and we had sex on 6th may to tell you a little more I have delivered my baby on 2nd Feb breastfeeding and had regular periods in march and april

1) I-pill gives more than 85% protection against unwanted pregnancy when it is taken within 48 hrs. Another thing, I can assume that you are NOT on Exclusive Breast Feeding (EBF) as you had gotten regular period in subsequent months. In this case, your chance of pregnancy is quite LOW.
2) You got withdrawal bleeding like period within a week due to effect of the I-pill. It is quite common and physiological phenomena. Most women get this type of bleeding.
3) It is too early to confirm pregnancy or abortion. If you have any doubt about pregnancy, you can undergo one home pregnancy test after 1 week.
