Is Pregnancy Possible By Having Unprotected Sex During Menstruation?

default
Posted on Thu, 6 Aug 2015
Question: I had sex during my period which I was in the middle to end of and it stopped the next morning. My boyfriend pulled out and I took the morning after pill within 12 hours after sex. I had taken it only 3 weeks prior as well. My period stopped like I said. I started spotting lightly yesterday and it stopped today. What are the chances that I could be pregnant.

Brief Answer:
No chance of being pregnant.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Chances of your being pregnant are practically nil.
That is because you had unprotected sex during your period, when you cannot be ovulating.
Also, he pulled out.
Plus you took the morning after pill.
So there is no chance of pregnancy.
Irregular bleeding and spotting will happen because you are taking the morning after pill too frequently.
All the best

I read that if you took the morning after pill more than once in a month it wouldn't work is that right? Yes I plan on not doing this again.

Brief Answer:
Yes, its efficacy reduces.

Detailed Answer:
Yes, if you take it very frequently, its efficacy reduces, and its side effects mount up.
It is only for a rare slippage, and not as a substitute for regular birth control / protection.
Take care.
