Posted on Tue, 24 Jan 2017
Question: My platelt count is 125. Everything else on my blood test came back mostly normal. What does this mean? My thyroid level dropped too. so what does this mean? I also have the worst pain under both my ribs that comes and goes. Anything related to the platelets?

Brief Answer:
Hello dear. Platelet counts are ok. Share the thyroid report

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. Welcome to HCM. A borderline low platelet count on a few occasion is acceptable. Platelets have a variable rate of production as well as destruction and any count above 1 lac will be acceptable. Pain under the ribs needs evaluation by clinical examination and a chest xray if required. However, it has nothing to do with the platelet counts.
I need to see your thyroid report and the treatment for it if you are receiving anything.
Thanks and regards
