Is Overeating In An 11 Year Old Child Normal?

Question: My 11 yr old male of average height for his age constantly engages in eating double at dinner time, especially at that time. He claims to be hungry all the time. However he eats 3 meals a day (2 at school) and sometimes two snacks. Gets some exercise 30min 5times a week. He weighs 105 lbs. he's around 4'7" Is this normal?

i read your question and i understand your concern. Teen age is very energy demanding age and calorie restriction is not wise. He is healthy, his BMI is still good of 24. Let him be active, play sports and eat as much as he wants. Make sure food is balanced and healthy. Talk to a dietitian and nutritionist for a complete weekly dietary plan.
