Posted on Fri, 2 Jan 2015
Question: Is it safe to take a beta blocker like metoprolol and smoke marijuanna? I have chronic nausea problems and wanted to try marijuanna as I have heard positive things. I take metoprolol for an occasional fast heartbeat but my heart is healthy.

Brief Answer:
yes it is safe to take beta blocker and marijuana.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome here.

There is almost no interaction between metoprolol and marijuana. It can be taken togather.
Rather it may be helpful. Marijuana increases your heart rate and a beta blocker can slow it down.

But check you blood pressure and pulse rate regularly. There may be occassional fluctuations.

Hope this helps.
