Brief Answer:
Can not get an STD from masturbation

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

It is nearly impossible that you can contract an STD from a hand job. Manual masturbation without contact to genitals is impossible to contract an STD. As the term STD or sexually transmitted disease requires genital or oral to genital contact to transmit an STD.

It is possible too transmit a common skin wart to the genitals if a person has contact with the wart but the likelihood is very low. It would be the same risk as shaking hands with someone with common warts on their hand or fingers. Again almost impossible to transmit HPV.

The chance to transmit herpes is impossible because the hands do not get infected with herpes.

In summary
nearly impossible to transmit STDs including HPV and herpes via manual masturbation

hi,

if you could catch hpv via a hand job what type of circumstance would that be. Would it be straight from her hand or would be if she had fluid from her vagina in her hands.

Also you say the likelihood is very low so that means there is a small chance but how?

thanks

sorry doc last question on this subject.

If I have sperm in my pants or trousers and its is touched by someone else can they catch anything. im worried that my people in my household family and pets might have picked up my dirty laundry.

Brief Answer:
common wart transferred only if they have a wart on their hand

Detailed Answer:
It is impossible to transmit HPV from vaginal secretions. The only way you can get a wart on your penis from a hand job is if the person has a common wart on their hand and you have repeated contact with that wart. Common warts are very hard to transmit from person to person so the risk fro transmission is extremely low. So low in fact I would not even worry about it

hi doc, did you see my follow up question about transfer of diseases from clothes, I know it sounds stupid but if you have sperm in your clothes and your family or pet interact or pick up laundry is this dangerous.

Brief Answer:
No trasmission of diseases from stained underwear

Detailed Answer:
I did not see the additional question about clothing and transferring of disease fro clothing. You can transmit certain parasites like scabies and lice from clothing of those who are infected with those parasites. You can not transmit any diseases from dried sperm on underwear or clothing.

Dear doctor,

I wrote to you about a handjob encounter I had at a massage parlour.

I know there is no risk of stds's but just wanted some more clarification as I cannot get an appointment with my doctor till next week.

Ever since the encounter my bladder has felt weak and I have urinated more than normal. Also I feel burning in my penis and my feet. This morning I woke up and found semen at the top of my penis, although I did wake up with a stiff penis. I then masturbated to see if I could get rid of whatever the feeling is I have been having. Upon masturbation the semen came out white and with bits of yellow. I have had no other sexual encounter apart from the hand job for a year

Please can you address my points one by one

thank you again

Brief Answer:
Urinary tract infection

Detailed Answer:
You may not actually contract an STD from oral or hand sex but you can get a bladder infection. I think it would be advisable that you see you MD and check for a bladder infection. This is easily treated with oral antibiotics. Bladder infections are not transmitted to other people either

You have signs or symptoms of HIV
