Is It Normal To Have Pain After A HSG Procedure?
Question: Hi Doc,
This is XXXXXXX again. Like my gynac advised, I went for HSG yesterday. There were painful times in the procedure. However, the doctor had given me an injection of painkiller
After coming home, later in the evening, I was experiencing pain in the mid section of my body. It felt as if the whole part is sore from inside. Even if I moved a little or yawned or coughed, it would pain. I also had some fever last night(100.2). I had a crocin and slept
The pain has reduced since morning but is still there. What I want to know is, if this normal after this procedure
I called up my gynac and she recommended Rantac 150 and taxim ocv 200 for next 5 days 2 times in a day
She said you can have a pain killer if you feel pain but irrespective of that, have these medicines
Please comment
Regards, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
yes, it is normal
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
I am sorry about the painful procedure that you had. However, it is normal to feel such pain after HSG. Hence, please try to rest as much as possible for the next couple of days, and drink plenty of water orally.
Complete the course of taxim and rantac as well.
For better pain relief, take Tablet Combiflam instead of plain crocin.
Get well soon, and let me know about how you feel.
Take care!
