Is It Advisable To Take 2 Packs Of Steroid Dose?
Question: I took a steroid dose pack of 6 days andfinished and the primary care wants me to take another dose pack for another 6 days....is it ok to take 2 doses of that

I have back pain and pain into buttocks and down r leg to knee. He gave me metylpredisolone or 6 days... Ending yesterday... It had helped and he wants to give me another round because still there in butt and down leg to knee but imprived

Methylprednisolone is a very potent corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory activity. High dose methylprednisolone may cause adrenal suppression. We usually avoid administering such drugs unless absolutely necessary. I usually advise my patients to avoid corticosteroids when they are well enough to try less potent drugs like paracetamol or even the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Taking methylprednisolone for more than a few days is likely to cause adrenal suppression so I would advise against its use unless your doctor believes this is the only solution.
