Question: My vaginal lining is 8 in thickness. Is that any concern? Also, at 69 how do they get through the cervix to do a biopsy on a polyp? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Lining is thicker.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
In ultrasound scan it is the endometrial lining that is measured. I think it should be your endometrial lining thickness. A thickness of 8mm is more than normal. in such cases endometrial biopsy is taken to rule out malignancy and to remove any polyp. For this purpose hysteroscope is introduced through vagina and cervix. it is a day care procedure. No need to worry.
