Question: I have varicose veins and before considering treatment should I start by wearing compression hose for awhile to see if that helps? If so, how long should I wear them for?

I've had varicose veins for quite some time, they don't hurt or anything. I have some color veins and two that pop out by the calves

It may not then be necessary to worry about as sporadic veins in a localized area may get enlarge and unless there is incompetent valve/s allowing back pressure.
Hence it is very important to get the color doppler done.
Timely diagnosis and intervention can help to avoid further complications.
Using compression socks/hose certainly help temporarily, use intermittently, particularly when you are working in standing position helps.
