Brief Answer:
yes, it can infect healthy persons.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.

Answer to your 1st question.

Candida can not infect only HIV positive persons, candida infection can be seen in normal persons. But less likely. Poor standard of hygiene , other than that, immuno compromised states can be the cause. Oral candidiasis is common after use of inhaled corticosteroids in asthma if rinsing of mouth is not done. So it can be seen in non hiv persons too.

Answer to your 2nd question.

Recurrent fungal infection is the strong indicator of poor hygiene and poor immunity. So you should maintain good hygiene. There are tests available to detect immunity. Immunoglobulin levels, HIV antigen and antibody testing etc should be done in case of recurrent fungal infection.

Answer to your 3rd question.

Following tests are available for candida infection.
1. KOH smear examination of direct tissue or scrapping or any growth. (Like sputum, urine, PAP smear etc)
2. In blood you can look for IgM and IgG antibodies against candida. Galacto XXXXXXX antigen if present in blood can indicate fungal infection.

Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
no need to worry much.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for the follow up question on HCM.
No need to worry much. Your HIV report after six month of unprotected sexual act is non reactive, this is sufficient enough to rule out HIV. So no need to worry much. You are not having HIV.
And candida infection can transmit sexually. So your wife is infected mostly due to sexual contact with you.
So better to start treatment and use condoms until infection resolve completely.
Once infection is healed, you can have normal sex life (without condom).
I think poor hygiene of genitals is the cause in your case. So thorough genital hygiene is needed. Use antiseptic soaps or liquids. Avoid moisture.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you and your wife good health.
Thanks.
