Is Blood Pressure Of 132/92 A Cause For Concern?

Question: Hello i have a question about my bp. Today i woke up with a bad head ache that doesnt seem to want to go away. I checked my bp 132/92. I know this is on the high side of things is there anything i can take at home to lower it until i see a doctor.

I am so sorry to hear about your headaches. This blood pressure reading is very normal given the fact that you have headaches. Whenever we have a pain, headache, etc., our bp increases and in no way means we have high blood pressure. We do not need to take any medications and this will most likely return to normal as soon as the headache is addressed. To take drugs for high blood pressure, you need to have at least 2 measurements meeting the criteria of at least greater or equal to 140/90. You are not there.

For the headaches, I recommend rest and Tylenol. This usually helps. Also, stay relax, eat healthy, avoid coffee and alcohol and do some light exercises and stay away from noisy environments. These, will be helpful.
