Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: I have a painful pea sized nodule to the left of my sternum. Feels like my son's herniated belly button. Came up within a day. Wondering if it could be a hernia as well

Brief Answer:
Yes, it might be a hernia.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Thank you for the query.

Can you please attach a photo of it?

Yes, hernia is possible. Especially as it has appeared so quickly. Hernia should be more visible when standing and less visible when lying down.
Ultrasound should diagnose it. You may consult general surgeon.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further questions.
