Posted on Thu, 8 Jun 2017
Question: Hi
Last week I used MTprost kit under the prescription of Dr. But today pregnancy test kit is showing positive. Can I use 2nd dose of MTprost or any other medicine. Because I don't want any surgical procedures to be done.

Brief Answer:
An ultrasound is advised

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Pregnancy test remains positive for about 2 weeks post abortion, so it is likely due to the remaining pregnancy hormone hCG in the body after the pregnancy is terminated.
It is better to get an ultrasound to check for the complete abortion.
If there is no evidence of pregnancy in the ultrasound, there is no need of repeating the MTprost kit.
If any evidence is there, then you need to go for surgical evacuation as it is considered as the failure of the medical method.
You can get back to me with the ultrasound report.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
