Is Sazo Advisable When Diagnosed With Ankylosing Spondylitis?

default
Posted on Tue, 6 Oct 2015
Question: I am suffering from ankylosing spondylitis My Dr. has prescribed me heavy painkiller which makes me drowsy and I don't feel like working and feel very dull; however as my disease is in initial stage I am not having that much pain, and I feel good by taking Nicip and feel fresh and painless for at least 12 hours; however I am worried about its side effects if I take it every day for long period like for years, as you must be knowing AS is not having any cure and I'll have to take pain killers life long, so please suggest me the long term use of Nicip, or is there any other basic painkiller which has least side effects? and I can take for long term on regular basis or any supplement or support drug I can take to reduce the side effects; Also please let me know how sazo 1000 helps in AS.

Brief Answer:
Yes, you should take sulphasalazine .

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem , I would suggest you to consider taking sulphasalazine as it is a disease modifying agent . Taking pain killers is not the solution for the same . Otherwise nicip is safe as it contains paracetamol so you can take it . You should continue physiotherapy as it is also very important .

You send me your reports and after seeing them , i will guide you accordingly .

Take care.

Dr. Shruti
