Is Medroxyprogesterone Advisable When On Clomiphene Citrate?

Question: I was not ovaluting, doc prescribed me clomifine citrate 50mg.
And my periods irregular, last month i had 1 week late 24 feb. This month again delayed.

Can i take medicine to get the period metroxyprigrestrone, ir should i wait to get periods .
Pls suggest.

From your notes it appears that you have taken Clomiphene citrate in the month of March. Please get a pregnancy test done first even if you have not taken clomiphene citrate in the month of March. If it is negative you can take Medroxyprogesterone acetate 10 mg daily for 7 days. You will get your period usually within 3-4 days of taking the last pill. Sometimes it may take up to 7 days.
XXXXXXX have you found out why your periods are irregular? What is your BMI? Even if you are overweight periods can become irregular. So please maintain normal BMI.

Since you are planning for a baby, start taking one tablet of folic acid daily.

I havent take cloromephine yet. I done pregnency test at home an it was negative.

So u r saying that i dont need to wait for periods,i can take medroxy progrestrone
My bmi is 26... M i overweight. My weight is 145 pound and height is 5'2.5".
I have ovalution problm also so aprt from tking medicine what else i need to tke care as m planning to conceive.

Yes, you don't need to wait for periods. You can take medroxyprogesterone to start periods, so that you can start taking clomiphene tablets.

You need to reduce weight by about 10 pounds.
To increase your chances of conception maintain normal BMI, quit smoking ( if you're a smoker) and have intercourse at least three times in a week

How long have you been married? I presume your hormone tests other than serum progesterone are normal. I also presume that fallopian tube patency test and semen analysis are normal.

I just wanted to make sure that baseline investigations are done. So I asked.

I just want to inform you that while taking clomiphene atleast in the first cycle you must have follicular study to make sure that you are ovulating and there are not many eggs growing in response to clomiphene.
