Is HIV Transmission Possible Through Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Mon, 3 Oct 2016
Question: Do you really think that the oral sex is no risk of infection for HIV?I mean that if the sex worker had been infected, usually she has many oral problems,so her saliva may contain blood or other infected body fluids ,I am not sure.and my condom had a very small hole,so my penis may come into contact with her blood or other infected body fluids . Doctor, I am very worried about that situation,do you still think it is no risk?and why?Because I had never have pharyngitis before,I am very worried about that.

Brief Answer:
No risk for HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX,

Welcome to HCM.

The risk of getting HIV from protected oral sex is even though the girl was positive because human saliva is not the fluid which transmits HIV as well as it also contains an enzyme which inhibits the growth of HIV virus so you need not to worry at all.
