Is HIV Test Conclusive 85 Days Post Exposure?
Question: Sir,
I did a HIV 1 & 2 and P24 combo (CMIA) test after 84 days of possible HIV infection. I took another test a different lab (HIV 1/2 spot test screening) at 85 days. Both the result came out non-reactive. Should I go for another test at 90 days or my tests are conclusive?
I recently had a TETANUS VACCINE. I found on the internet that TETANUS VACCINE can cause false positive in rare cases. I don't want to give myself tension by getting the false positive. Please walk me through all the tests that are not affected by TETANUS VACCINE in detection of HIV 1 &2. I want to relive myself from this HIV (1&2) tension.
In my home city, labs are offering only HIV 1 RNA QUANTITATIVE, REAL TIME PCR. Will it work? What about HIV 2?

The tetanus vaccine can give false positive result but it is on very rare occasions and after short time of exposure. It is very rare or practically nil to get false positive result after 90 days of exposure even if you had taken tetanus vaccine in this month.
You can go for any of test western blot or HIV 1&2 P24 combo test and the result will be 100% reliable and conclusive to render yourself free from HIV so just calm down and get back to me with test result.
