Flexura D is a combination of 2 medicines- metaxolone and diclofenac.
The combination is much more powerful than ibuprofen alone.
However, it has adverse effects on the kidneys, and so I usually avoid the medicine.
I prefer to suggest a medicine like combiflam, which happens to be a combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol, which is therefore nephrosafe.
Also, taking cold compress and a good physiotherapy will help extraordinarily in cases of backache. So you can try that.

Are cold compresses better or warm compresses better?? I have been using a hot water bag for the past few days.
Further I have stopped exercising or physio as I thought pain was increasing. So I thought I should resume only after the pain totally subsides ! Is that right or should I continue exercise despite pain?

I feel cold compress will be better as heat will increase inflammation. So cold compress is what I'd suggest.
You can ask your physiotherapy person for IFT instead of full physiotherapy.
