Brief Answer:
it's not consider an unsafe drug

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

dextromethorphan is not considered a potential trigger of hemolysis in patients with G6PD deficiency. Please check whether dextromethorphan is the only active ingredient of the formulation you're about to give him and also read the summary of product characteristics to exclude that any other (besides the active ones) ingredients interfere with the G6PD pathway. It should be clearly indicated in there.

Kind Regards!
