Is Crocin Advance Tablet Safe For An Infant Suffering From Fever

Question: Sir,

My child 1.5yrs & he have heavy fever now l. Shall I give him crocin advance half tablet?
Please suggest.

Thanks for the query

Crocin advance contains 500 mg of paracetamol.
The average weight of 1.5 year old child is 10-12 kg.The dose of paracetamol is 10-15 mg per kg per dose and it can be given 3-4 times a day (max 60 mg/kg/day).
So you can give 1/4 of Crocin advance that is 125 mg.Do tepid water sponging to bring down the temperature.
It is always better to give syrup to such small babies.You may give the well crushed tablet in emergency but I would suggest you to give syrup from next time.
