Is Contrave Drug Effective In Managing Weight Gain?
Question: Recently dx with heart failure, efficacy factor of 30, runs of set. Also have type II dmv, chronic anemia B12 defiance and vitamin do efficacy. Tried everything to lose wt and always gain it back plus more. Is the new wt loss drug Contravention safe for me to take ? Had ICD placed in Dec of 2016.

besides several adverse effects Contrave may trigger cardiac arrhythmia and myocardial infarction.
Instead of these unsafe alternatives, I would encourage discussing with your internist (endocrinologist) on the possibility of optimizing the anti-diabetic therapy as it is the crucial key in controlling excessive calories intake, their proper utilization and decreasing appetite. In this regard, insulin therapy should be rationalize.
Another clue to consider is the false body weight increase, which is due to fluids retention because of congestive heart failure.
Coming to this point, a careful physical exam for revealing signs of systemic congestion, coupled with:
- cardiac ultrasound,
