Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for sharing your health concern with us.

I have gone through your query and would like to offer some suggestions.

Firstly, you have a recurring infection. This means the treatment course is not sufficient and the bacteria are left behind to cause infection again and again.

To manage this situation, you have to take adequate initial treatment followed by maintenance therapy.

Please avoid sexual intercourse until complete treatment. Avoid using tampons and vaginal douches. Instead, use mild antiseptic solution to clean the genital area.

Also, please check for any urinary tract infection. Diabetes should also be excluded as it can cause repeated infections.

If culture test was done, you should be knowing the antibiotic sensitivity and this can be used to treat.

Hope you find this information helpful. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

regards,
Shanti.V.

hello doc.. thanks for the information.. fungal infection is recurring every month as you said.. but this month even though am continuously using candid v cream i have the same symptoms. so is it possible that its not candida but some other fungus which is resistant to the antifungal creams I am using. if yes what test should I get done to know it? if this fungal infection should I still take antibiotics or anti fungal tablets like forcan will be sufficient?

Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

In the current scenario, you need to get a vaginal and cervical swab to detect the exact cause of the infection and plan further management.

Also, oral treatment combined with vaginal application is ideal for recurrent infections.

Hope this helps.
