Question: I'm concerned that over the years I've been living with MS, as well as others in my family. I'm 22 y/o male that has occipital neuralgia, tingling/minor numbness, lack of balance, muscle aches, and occasional bladder retention (takes me some time to go). I'm here bc of the coronavirus and seeing what I can do at this point in time to get some answers, thanks!

Brief Answer:
MRI needs to be done.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and I would try my best to help you.

I have noted your clinical details. Based on this, we can not confirm or exclude multiple sclerosis (MS). This is because MS as such does not have any specific symptoms. Many other neurological diseases also can have similar symptoms.
So, you need detailed evaluation. MS can be easily diagnosed on the basis of MRI brain and spine. If done, please upload the reports.

In addition, please also get tests done to exclude other conditions- vitamin B12 and vitamin D level, thyroid profile, ANA profile, Nerve conduction studies, serum CPK.

There is no need to worry, as after proper diagnosis, it can be treated.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
