Question: I have regular 28 to 30 day cycle. Yesterday I came on as expected but I have only had light bleeding for one day and today is completely clear. I am trying to get pregnant and worry now I will never get pregnant because this has happened. What is wrong please? I have done a pregnancy test but its negative

Brief Answer:
It can be perimenopause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

You had your period at the expected day so there is no need of pregnancy test unless you had it as light spotting.
If you still believe it is just spotting you can do a pregnancy home test after 5 days.
I think the lighter periods that you are having now may be related to hormone imbalance XXXXXXX to perimenopause.
This doesn't mean that your all cycles are non ovulatory but it can be more difficult getting pregnant.
I think you should visit a fertility specialist to get evaluated as soon as possible because you don't have much time to loose.
Hope I have answered the question.

I have had a range of blood tests by fertility specialist who says I should conceive naturally and no need to worry. I have been discharged

I am bleeding again but it is a very light period. Will that stop me conceiving?

Brief Answer:
It is a normal period, a bit lighter.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
If you are still bleeding it can be a normal period but a bit lighter.
If will not prevent you to concieve. I believe the lighter periods may be a sign of hormone imbalance and perimenopause.
You can still concieve, a woman in perimenopause can concieve and can still have children but the probability keeps getting lower at your age.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
