Question: I have moderate MVP diagnosed by an echo. Holter showed 18,000 Pvc's. Have started on Bisiprolol 2.5 mg. for 4 days now, but my vitals are going down - 90/54, pulse54. My heart was skipping beats but now I have a double beat. Surgery is planned for future after another echo in 6 months but with the back up of bookings, I am worried. It is Saturday with 0 chance of speaking with a Dr.

Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your low heart rate and blood pressure are caused by bisoprolol.

Although this is a low dose, it seems that you are sensitive to it.

For this reason, I would recommend reducing the dose ( half of the dose, 1.25mg ) or switch to Metoprolol Hemisuccinate 25mg (which does not affect your blood pressure so much).

There is no reason to panic!

I remain at your disposal for any further questions whenever you need!
