I Have Been Suffering From Enlarged Axilla Lymph Node Since

default
Posted on Fri, 14 Jun 2019
Question: I have been suffering from enlarged axilla lymph node since November. I have had a mammogram, ultrasound, CT scan and lymph node biopsy. The lymph node biopsy showed follicular hyperplasia. My other symptoms are as follows: dizzy (a feeling of off balance and I need to hold onto something rather than room spinning), weight loss (started out at 114 and am down to 96 pounds), fatigue, frequent headaches. The doctors have also completed an ANA test that tested positive at 1.80 nucleolar pattern and also tested for schleroderma which was negative. They thought the titer in ANA was not high enough originally. The lymph node that the biopsy was completed on is not the same lymph node that I am experiencing discomfort in. My question is how should I be proceeding and what should be my next steps?

Brief Answer:
You should consult a Neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Axillary Lymph nodes are enlarged not only in Cancer, but also in Infections.Eventhough the infection is controlled, sometimes the Lymph node size doesn't come down.
All the symptoms that you have mentioned are non specific and are related to Neurlogical cause. So, Please consult a Neurologist and proceed further.
As the Lymph node biopsy is normal, nothing to worry.
Get Thyroid function tests- T3,T4,TSH levels.
If you have another enlarged Lymph node, get FNAC(FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION CYTOLOGY).This is not Biopsy.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health and speedy recovery.
Regards
