Brief Answer:
It is not possible to reverse sensitivity for nitrates.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to H.C.M.

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

I am sorry to say that It is not impossible to reverse sensitivity.

Nitrates used as preservative and few person are sensitive for this.

I always suggest my patient who really insist for Ham or Bacon to follow these steps-
1) Proper washing and cooking in water (nitrates are soluble in water).

2)Use hams labeled as "uncured," "no nitrites" or "no nitrites added." because comparatively safe than others.

3) Any Antacid Tablet as you are taking Dexilant .
You can increase Tablet Dexilant twice a day 20 minutes before meal whenever you eat ham or bacon.

4) Vitamin C

Again repeating that avoid nitrates containing food as maximum you can.

Hope this answers your question.
If you have any query then please do not hesitate .
-I will be happy to answer your questions.
