Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and following is recommended guidelines:

1. Often there is/will be pain in the scrotum area (in this condition) and both the above said Yoga require specific position (PADMASANA) to be adopted which further stretches the area and may worsen the pain, so if you want to do it make sure to first practice under the guidance of trained/ certified/experienced Yoga teacher.

2. You have not mentioned the cause of the problem: whether it is occupational, due to disease condition, being overweight, stasis, injury or family history?

3. I usually treat my patients on the basis of "Siragat Vaat" thus pacification of Vaat is necessary.

4. Do revert back with your concern for further line of management.

hi,

1. I have been suffering from this pain since july last year right after i lifted a drunken friend during a party on the night before. The next morning the pain started and it has not gone since then.

2. I went many doctors but they always tell me that it is grade 1 and for that i have been wearing tight underwear due to which i guess the situation has not worsened.

3. Apart from that i am also a type 1 diabetic since 2009 and due to varicocele i have not been able to exercise and my blood sugar levels are also fluctuating a lot.

4. I saw a video on youtube ine which it was mentioned that varicose veins which is very much similar to varicocele can be completely cured by kapalbhati and anuloma viloma in 6-7 months. So is it right that varicocele will also get better by yoga?

5. One more thing as u suggested padmaasana is not comfortable as it may cause pain so can i practice these pranayama in VAJRASANA pose which is considered better for varicocele.

6. And also tell me about the rate at which i can do yoga .
Should i do it faster or slower.

Please revert as in my case it is the only hope to get better.

Thanks

Management

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for reverting back.

As mentioned earlier I usually manage the problem on the line of 'Siragat Vaat' thus to overcome the pathology

. take Vit.C rich diet (banana, black grapes, mint, coriander, milk, green vegetables, lemon, papaya, guava, dry raisins, pineapple, tomato, beet, orange, amla) and protein in your meals (take milk with protein powder, paranthas, sprouted beans and pulses),
. Avoid anything which decreases venous return like standing for long hours, sitting cross legs, wearing tight jeans, take nicotine (Smoking?),
. While at work elevate your ankles and while sleeping elevate the foot end to minimize swelling
.You can practice Halasan (Plough Pose), Sphinx pose which helps in circulation of blood.

. Add a mild laxative: Abhyarishta at night
. initially start with Shothari lauha & guduchighan vati with punarnvadi kwatha.

. Kapalbhati should be done 2-3 hours after meal or on an empty stomach. start with one minute at a time and count till 30 exhalations at time, then gradually increase the duration upto 2-5 minutes. [same is for anulom viloma]

Brief Answer:
one can get prophylactic relief

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for reverting back.

1. Since it is a surgical condition thus opinion of a Shalya Doctor/Urologist is necessary for further action, however some of the Yoga postures which I do recommend to my patients (after getting positive feedback from surgeon) is/are

. Sarvangasana ( shoulder stand pose)
. Padhastasana ( hand foot pose)
. Pavanmuktasana ( anti flatus pose)
. Shirshasana & Tadasana.

PS. Kapalbhati/Anuloma viloma Pranayam HELPS (not cure) to stimulate the function of abdominal organs and as such helps strengthen the muscle & connective tissues of abdomen.
