Brief Answer:
RUPTURED EARDRUM AND SLEEPING POSTURE- NO RELATION.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having ruptured ear drum. I would like to ask you few more details.

Is it traumatic rupture or infective (cold) ?
Is your ear drum rupture associated with any ear discharge ?

Kindly get back to be with the details.

Traumatic rupture heals on its own, with in 3 months. Infective one, secondary to deviated nasal septum, allergic rhinitis and chronic tonsillitis requires extra care and treatment for the both medical conditions.

I suggest the following measures, to overcome your ruptured eardrum.

1. keep dry cotton plugs during bath and during active draining to prevent reactivation infection with water.

2. Avoid freezer products (curd/ice creams).

3. Get treatment for co-existing factors (allergic rhinitis/sinusitis/tonsillitis).

4. As such, there is no relation between sleeping posture and early healing. Yes. In case of pain with draining ears, you can sleep in ear up posture.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
