just in case you didn't here it is again:

7/11....here's more:

I have taken viagra off and on for 10 yrs. But not that often as I have not been that active sexually. At first I took 50mgs and that worked. Then I had to go to 100mgs and that worked for awhile. Now it doesn't work that well. meaning I can't hold an erection. very frustrating.

I have no recent medical or surgical history.

Not a diabetic and not hypertensive.

I take 50mgs zoloft, 450mgs wellbutrin and 1mg abilify.

I am in good physical condition and work out 6 days a week. I don't drink and don't use recreational drugs, and my weight is normal.

any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Identify the cause of sexual dysfunction first

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir.Thanks for writing me back and sharing the detailed history.

I am very glad that you are physically fit and maintain perfect health.I would not increase the dose directly since it will have adverse effects on your health such as sudden fall in blood pressure or have adverse consequence on your heart function.

According to me the sexual dysfunction is one of the most common side effects due to the antidepressant/antipsychotics medication(Zoloft and Wellbutrin).

Equally important is to know about function of the penis which depend on both nerves supplying and blood vessels feeding it.I would ensure this getting a penile doppler which is one of the preferred tests for sexual dysfunction. If the doppler is negative then I were to attribute sexual dysfunction to the medication & were to switch to others which are less likely to cause sexual dysfunction.I believe this should restore your sex life.

Thus I would prefer identifying the cause(keeping your age and medication as an important factors) instead of increasing the dose of Viagra which is not advisable.

Hope this answers your query.

thank you.

I assume there have been people who have taken a higher dose who have not had any adverse affect?

Brief Answer:
Adverse effect can be lifethreatening at high dose

Detailed Answer:
Hi sir. Thanks for writing me back.

As discussed it is important to know the cause of erectile dysfunction because identifying the cause helps to decide whether to increase the dose (provided the cardiovascular health is perfect) which ideally should be monitored by a physician.Sometimes the adverse effect such as sudden drop in blood pressure can be fatal.Hence, I would monitor all my patients especially above 60 years and on a higher dose.

In case if the dysfunction is due to vascular or neuronal problems there might not be any benefit increasing the dose instead I would prefer alternative treatment (such as suction device therapy).

Hope this answers your query.
