Brief Answer:
need info

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear
welcome to healthcaremagic.
I can understand your concern.
The important point is pill to be taken within 72 hours after sex.
so its effective in preventing pregnancy up to 90%.

For further discussion i need to know about
1.your last menstruation date.
2.Are your periods regular?
3.What is duration of your cycle?

Looking forward to hear from you.

1.your last menstruation date.-4th oct

2.Are your periods regular?
yes with difference of 3-4days less or more.. But after my delivery 3 years back there is one change.. I get severe unbearable headache a day before period starts.
I take vasograin tablet for headache.

3.What is duration of your cycle?
difference of 3-4days less or more.

Few other facts
I got pcod before delivery n weight has increased to almost 15kg in last one year.
I got thyroid test done but that was normal.
I deliver the first child on August 2012.
I had suffered a post delivery depression for about a year because of some unhappy environment of home.. I had 9 months feeding time was not able to feed beyond as no lactation.

We are not planning for second child.
Please advice what to do.
Should I go for ultrasound for pcod check again?
Which other test are needed?

Brief Answer:
ipill causes hormonal imbalance

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for the information.I understand your concern.
In my opinion ipill is a high dose of progesterone hormone. It causes hormonal imbalance which might effect the timing and amount of bleeding of the period.
That means the coming period might come early or late and bleeding can be less or more than usual.
But the chances of pregnancy is rare because you have taken ipill within stipulated time and it is 90% effective if done so.
As you said there is variability of 3-4 days more or less the expected period dates would be November 1st to November 8 th.
So still there is time for the period. You need to worry if period is delayed for 2 weeks or more beyond November 8 th.
So relax.
And coming to menstrual cycles the cycles of even 21-35 days are considered normal.
It appears that you have 26-34 days cycle length. So it might be normal.
But if you have any excess weight gain, any excess facial hair growth (which are the signs of PCOD) then it needs to be evaluated to rule out PCOD.
Adapt healthy lifestyle like healthy nutritional diet and exercise daily to prevent PCOD.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss further.
Best regards....Dr.Srilatha
