How Long Does Cocaine Remain In The System?

Posted on Tue, 22 Sep 2015
Question: Long story short, I am a professional mixed martial arts fighter with severe chronic pain and was recently switched to suboxone for pain management as well as addiction to doctor prescribed oxycodone. Although recreational drugs are a rarity in my life I did make the horrible decision to use cocaine and subsequently was drug tested 4.5 days later at my doctors appointment. I had never been tested before but I have now put myself in danger.of not only having my treatreatment halted but also a suspension or ejection from my organization, which I cannot mention, and this is my lively hood. Im very aware of the magnitude my terrible choice may have but am seemingly stuck in limbo awaiting results. I would really appreciate an honest, science based opinion on whether or not the metabolite was likely still present or not? I haven't slept in days with worry. Im not asking for pity, I messed up, I would just like a medical professionals opinion. Thank you

Brief Answer:
It depends on the amount and with which it is consumed

Detailed Answer:
Hi
It depends on the amount as well as how frequently been done.
Cocaine usually gets eliminated from urine in 12 hours. However, if the dose is heavy, it may take about 72 hours. After this period it is usually not detected in urine.

However, there is an exception. If a large quantity of alcohol has also been consumed with cocaine, it takes even longer to eliminate- 5 days approximately.
Benzoylecgonine metabolite of cocaine takes longer to get eliminated. Even if the amount of cocaine was very less, minimum time for it to get eliminated is 4-5 days.In case of heavy use, it may take around 10 days. And with alcohol around 25 days or even a month are required for complete elimination of the drug.

I hope you got the information you wanted.

Take care

So it was a saliva test not urine, I had consumed less then a gram and I have not drank alcohol in 5+years. I weigh 155lbs, fighting weight of 145lbs and my last body fat % test, performed by under water weighing, showed me at 6.8% body fat. I eat very healthy and train 6:hours a day for 3-4 hours a training session. The exact time from last use was 112 hours and prior to that had not usedo the cocaine in years. I know they are testing for benzoylecgonine not the drug itself. I also take 650mg of testosterone cyponate weekly along with a slew of natural vitamins, unfortunately mixed martial arts is an extremely demanding sport physically, thus the anabolics. I also take 20mg a day of nolvadex, an anti estrogen. I don't know if these factors matter or not?
