How Long After Taking Mercilon Will Menstrual Bleeding Resume?

Question: Hi doctor, I am back again. I have been taking that mercillon pill and my 21 days finished on Friday.. I thought i would come on in 2-3 days but nothing so far.. I know it will come inshaaAllah but what I'm worried about is the dates we counted to come on yesterday or today.. ? Confused

Hello dear, I was waiting for your feedback since 2-3 days.
Don't worry about it as most likely you will get periods in 1-2 days and then start a new pill pack on day one of period and take till 18th of Dec and then discard the rest of the pack and wait for periods so that you will be free by 25th Dec which you desired.

Firstly stop taking stress and believe firmly that it will come in a couple of days.
In case it doesn't then we can give you PROGESTERONE tablets for TEN days to supress periods for another 2 weeks and then wait for withdrawal bleeding and thus you will be free from all this before 25th December as you desired.

Ok I will let u know by Thursday what happend inshaaAllah. And I wanted to ask one more thing could it be because of my thyroid. I got blood tests done and with the results the doctor increased the dosage from 25-50.

I have uploaded the report for the thyroid.

Hi dear sorry for the delay in response.
Yes I have seen the report and its good that you have escalated your dose of thyroid hormone.
It can be due to thyroid hormone but since you took oral pills the irregularities due to thyroid will not be affecting the cycle regularity much but in case it was your regular cycle then thyroid would have caused problems.
But still good you got tested for it and I hope you will get your period soon.

Hi doctor thank u for all ur support and always readily answering my questions. I got my periods last night late at night.. Alhamdullilah. But I wanted to ask u something that doctor you know this thyroid problem, would it cause problems for me in the future when I leave the pill? Like if I plan for a family and all can this thyroid be a problem for the future ? I know there's no point worrying and just have faith in god but yeah. Thank you

Good to hear that your Periods came well on expected date and thus no issues now.
Thyroid hormone levels if stay within normal limits will not cause any problems in conception at all.
So don't worry in that direction and keep taking the medicine daily empty stomach and at least 6 monthly check up of hormone levels.

Hi doctor hope u are well. I have been taking the birth control pills.. Today is 14th pill that I would take inshaaAllah. However you said I must take for 18 days, that would be that I must finish taking the pills by Saturday. However I'm just thinking if I stop on Saturday il only come on, around Wednesday and I need to be clean by Sunday and I don't think that would happen coz last time it took 6 days. Is it possible for me to leave the birth control pills on Thursday or Friday? Or do I have to take it till Saturday for 18 days...?

You will have to take till Saturday

Hello dear, good to talk to you again.
You will have to take it till Saturday and make it till 18 days otherwise your upcoming cycles will get disturbed which is not a desired situation at all.
Take tablet tranexemic acid three times a day for 3-4 days till bleeding stops starting from day 1 of periods, it will decrease the blood flow during periods so that you get free a little early and I hope everything will fit well.
