Brief Answer: Should not rush back into your sport till 6 months Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for your query. One thing you must know is that, there's no way to say exactly when your shin splints will go away. It usually takes more than 5-7 months to heal. The most important thing that you should not rush back into your sport till 6 months. If you start exercising before your shin splints have healed, you may hurt yourself . I advise you to- 1. Take rest. It plays a key role in decreasing pain and inflammation. 2. Stop doing the activity that caused the problem, at least until their symptoms are under control. 3. Apply cold packs and take anti-inflammatory medications like Motrin to calm pain and inflammation. You should always wear shoes with good support and padding, warm up before working out, making sure to stretch the muscles in your legs. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
