Hi

Thanks for your query at HCM.
I would like to tell you that the symptoms of glandular fever are thought to take around one to two months to develop after infection with the Epstein-Barr virus. So yes it is possible that you might have transmiited infection to your partner. It is usually seen that symptoms of glandular fever resolve in 2-3 weeks. The virus is shed in the saliva for up to a year after illness and intermittently thereafter. So it is difficult to suggest you how long you should refrain from kissing. You can have intercourse after 3-4 weeks of illness.

Should I suggest him to take a test to see if he took it? But not all who come into contact with the disease gets infected? So there isn't a way to know if I am still contagious or not? So the safest thing if he hasn't took the virus is not to kiss for a year. Well... lolol he will definitely leave me.
Thanks for helping me and sorry for my complains...this is my 4th week of isolation.

Brief Answer:
Lead your normal life.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I would like to tell you that majority of people have been exposed to the virus as children, and as a result of the exposure, they have developed immunity to the virus. In that case there is practically no chances of getting infection. It is of note that most people who are exposed to the EBV don't ever develop mononucleosis. Therefore, it can be difficult to precisely determine how long the infection may be contagious. But practically you can start your normal courtship including kissing after 4-6 weeks. Do not disturb your life for a treatable disease.

Take care
