How Do I Know If The Garmin Heart Monitor When Heart Rate Drops Drastically For About 15 Minutes?

Question: I bought a garmin heart monitor three days ago. I also stopped taking metoprolol yesterday. (I was on them for anxiety and fast heart rate. I was only taking 12mg a day) Today on the heart rate monitor at around 7pm my heart rate dropped to 34 and seemed to stay around that for about 15 minutes then slowly went back up in the 90s. I was picking out spray paint and didn't realize till later that my heart rate dropped. Is that possible? Or is the garmin acting up?

Brief Answer:
Kindly refer to the detailed answer below

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I would like to tell you that Metoprolol 12mg is very low dose to drop your heart rate to 30s from 90s.

Heart rate can change according to your activity level, emotions and physical changes. As you already have mentioned you have anxiety disorder then that can be a reason for raised Heart rate.

Kindly check your heart monitor with a biomed if it requires any calibration. And check manually if you monitor saying low heart rate. If it’s working fine then you may require a ambulatory ECG monitoring for 24-48 hours.

Garmin heart monitor is a device to monitor your heart rate and don’t have any effect on HR.

Hopefully this information will answer your query.
