Brief Answer:
Surgery can help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The contracted pelvic floor can be treated with the help of physical therapy. But if the therapy has failed then only surgery is the option with you. it is often associated with rectocele which can be corrected surgically. Your gynecologist can examine you and let you know if surgery is an option for you.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.

Hello again and thank you for your reply. I do have mild rectocele which is not severe enough to warrant surgery. As for the contracted pelvic floor, the only surgery available is Botox injections into the pelvic floor. However, according to the Euro-G.Y.N., this would not benefit me and is very expensive. His only recommendation is to continue P.T. for another year. However, this has not helped the pain at all and I am tired of not feeling well. I am desperately in search of an alternate solution. Also, I am not very computer literate and do not know how to access you directly. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Muscle relaxants can help some.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.

If there is only a mild rectocele then surgery will not help much.
Physical therapy seems slow to show a response. You can get some muscle relaxant medications prescribed and see if they provide some relief in abdominal pain. Botox injections seem to be the only other option.

Hope my answer is helpful.
