How Can Genetic Reasons For The Inability To Lose Weight Be Managed?

default
Posted on Fri, 14 Apr 2023
Question: Dear Doctor,
Brief Question: Body is not responding to weight loss (Genetic Curse). How to suppress Genetic things?

Details Query:
Let me begin by saying that I am 28 years old, my height is 5ft8inch, and weight is 84kg. Last year around this time I was approximately 71kg and used to go to the gym at that time last year.
Due to workload, unbalance of Diet and less physical activity and lots of stress, I put-on nearly 14kg in 1year and 2 month.
From last one month, I was on a strict Diet (mostly take boiled food, minimal crabs) and also following the strict instruction of the certified trainer. Having said that, I haven’t lost a single pound of body weight in last one month. As far as my knowledge is the concern (All hormone tests are being done and found normal Cortisol, Thyroid, and Blood sugar level, Liver panel Test, Testosterone, etc) this is being happened due to genetic curse. I would simply blame this on the Genetic Parts.

How much time do you really think to lose one kg? How much time do you think to lose 14 kg overall if a person follows strict diet and instruction of certified trainer (If the hormone is normal, medical history also being normal)?

What extra do you think one should do to lose one kg in a month as I am not setting the big goal? I was setting small goals like 2 to 3 kg in a month. Did I set the goal wrong (2 to 3kg in a month)?

Here are the very tough questions, which Doctors are not comfortable to answer due to lack of knowledge, which is the Genetic cause. How to find which Gene is malfunctioning so that we can eliminate the root cause of body not responding to weight loss training?
How to suppress that particular Gene in order to maximize the weight loss process, and enhance the muscle building. Here I am not talking about any boring Diet and Exercise which a school going kid also know. Please don’t give suggestion on diet and exercise

As I know without Genetic Help the Exercise and the diet have to have an almost negligible effect on weight loss and muscle building. I would Consider Genetic as supreme in terms of muscle building and weight loss and in my view and through extensive studies, I found the diet and exercise a very easy thing for easy people to suggest.

What suggestions and advice would you like to give in terms of Genetic so that I could lose weight and build muscle as I already said, my body is nor responding?

Waiting for your response. Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
Weight loss and Genetics.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

You have a strong reason and feeling that genetic makeup had not let you lose weight. This is negative feeling that actually reduces the chances of weight loss.

Although the genetic makeup is partially responsible in 20 to 25% of the people who try to lose weight they still lose the weight partially. Second genetic cause disproportion of fat accumulation esp in few where there is fat around hip, thighs, around neck etc. It has major influence but the fact is environmental factors are a major reason that lets a person down to lose weight.

So I want you to have positive thoughts. I had seen few people who lose only one kg in 1 year but they are positive about it and keep working slowly towards their goals.

In most people stop/lose interest in pursuing goals just before they start losing that one pound of weight.
I suggest to stop blaming on genetics and start working slowly towards weight loss. Please do not rush through as it may cause weight gain and not real weight loss.
Be positive about your goals. GO VERY SLOW WHILE LOSING WEIGHT it lasts long.

Even if there is a bad gene within you nothing can be done at the moment as Gene therapy is still a long way ahead to be available for common man.

The quicker you realize you're about such wrong notion the better you would start looking good and work better.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.

Hi Ma'am,

Let me say thanks to you as you have shown interest and courage to answer my query a lot of so-called Doctors are showed no interest, In fact, they don't have much knowledge, they only know some stupid medicines and stupid test, very happy to answer common questions like common disease and common medicines.Which is why I am greeting my Thanks to you as you answered my query.

I highly disagreed with you, you said genetic makeup is partially responsible for 20 to 25%, Do you have any data or study to support this?

You said the Environmental factor is supposed to be the main reason, again this is partially right not totally. I would like to reiterate that there could be so many causes associated with that like hormonal imbalances: high estrogen, low testosterone, low DHEA (a hormone of the adrenal glands), high insulin and high cortisol, Glucose intolerance, Androgen insensitivity, Endocrine disruptors, Chromosome Abnormality,
AR GENE(Located on the Chromosome Xq11-12), thyroid hormones (TSH, T3, and T4), Blood sugar level (FASTING), Faulty Hypothalamus Gland, Growth hormone (GH) and acetylcholine(METABOLISM), Dihydro TESTOSTERONE etc.

There could be so many reasons associated with this cause, like low testosterone(ARGENE), Glucose intolerance, Insulin-like Growth factor-1, deficiency insulin hormone , cortisol hormone imbalance, increasing estrogen level, dihydrotestosterone level, Overactive thyroid gland, hypothalamus functioning, faulty AR Gene, chromosome abnormality(X-chromosome), lack of rectus abdominal muscle(Genetic),

Look there, those above-mentioned causes don't have any environmental influence.Only environmental influence can negligibly enhance the genetic makeup to express nothing more than that.

It is extremely laughable that such people do exist in this planet who only loose 1kg in the year, it's utter nonsense, I guess those would be such people who don't have to have the basic knowledge of science anatomy, foods, genetics, hormones, last but not the least environmental cause,

Genetic make-up not losing my weight when I am saying that with a strong reason, I am not going deeper into this topic because you doctors(not all) are not habituated of listening to the truth, and you all doctors(except very few) don't have any focus on genetic. You only say what a class 10 student biology books usualy say.

Do you know something about genetic testing?Again I am saying Weight loss and muscle building is depending on so many factors first one is Genetic Makeup, the second one is level of androgenic hormone again its gene, exercise patterns, lastly your so-called food and environmental factors.

I haven't seen any result despite hard attempt like strict diet plan strict exercise, proper sleeping, not a single pound in 1.5 months.I would like to know the possible cause.

I am sorry, It's not the wrong notion, the people who don't have command over Genetics tends to talk rubbish like that.

I am requesting you guide me why my body is not responding despite everything seems to be okay. The cause of problems and its solutions.

I am sorry if I have said something wrong or disrespected you in any way.I really appreciate you as you answered my query as so many doctors avoided it as it is a habitual question which they are habituated of answering the utter nonsense.Prevention is the best cure I believe.

Brief Answer:
Weight loss

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Simplify them, do you really want to lose weight? Why are you blaming on Genetics?
I had already mentioned that even if it is genetic make up there is nothing you can do right now.
You think of what is possible to lose weight than blaming on genetics and not continuing your work towards weight loss goal.
So that is the take away idea from this answer.
As I said I had seen people losing only a KG in a year but they are still trying to lose that extra 5 kg in 5 yrs than giving it up.
So be practical, do not go on a wild chase for answers.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.

Hi,

You haven't specifically answered my Query.I have asked and explained you clearly, what would be the likely causes?

You have answered me a very generic manner, which would not have expected from a professional Doctor. Those answers were the set of answers which a general person can find through the Internet. I am very sorry for saying this.

You have come with a pre-determined theory, In which you said that you saw the person who had lost 1 Kg in a year, Isn't that unacceptable?

Lastly, you haven't read my query properly and answered it in a way which a generally practising doctor won't answered. My questions were very specific on Genetic nor the what I can do or what I cant do, I think that much knowledge I do possess. So don't need advice on the Diet and Excercise.

What I do need suggestions on Hormones like thyroid hormones (TSH, T3, and T4), Blood sugar level (FASTING), Faulty Hypothalamus Gland, Growth hormone (GH) and acetylcholine(METABOLISM), Dihydro TESTOSTERONE etc.
and Genetics that's it!

Thanks

Since you're very sure that Genetics, Hormones don't play any parts in Muscle building and weight loss, which I assumed from your answer.

Let me ask you some tough questions, what is the hormone responsible for muscle building maximization, What are the hormone which generally stops the process of weight loss. Which Gene is very specifically activated motor neuron to maximize the muscle building process.

What is role the Growth Hormone role? What is the role of Androgenic Hormone in Muscle building? What is the AR gene all about? Metabolism is affected by which you so-called environmental factors?

Brief Answer:
Please chose right option by asking a specialist not a GP

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

You have very specific questions on genetics and hormones. You chose a wrong product by asking a GP, you should have chosen a specialist question.

Hope I have answered your query.
