Brief Answer:
You should get investigated
Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Hi , I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
I know that the swelling in ankles and feet are troublesome.
But we initially need to find the cause for them.
Since your GP has ruled out possibility of Cardiac and
Varicose vein problems, i would suggest you following investigations :
1.
Thyroid Function test
2. Liver Function Test to see for
Serum Albumin levels.
3. Urine for
Albuminuria.
4. If all normal , go for Venous Doppler both Lower Limb.
It is always advisable to look for the causes that can cause this swelling, because if we find a cause and treat it, the problem would be resolved automatically.
Till you reports are available, you may try these things:
1. Leg elevation when you sleep.
2. Small dose of
diuretic (like
Torsemide 5mg once a day in morning), must dicuss with your doctor before you start.
3. Few doctors also suggest compression stocking. I have found them useful in about 50% of my patients with such problem.
So, get the suggested investigations, in case you have got them done already, please share the report.
Also would like to know, what explanation has been given by your doctor for your
Neutropenia.
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any query you may please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
