Question: Hi, my name is Chrissy. I am located in XXXXXXX TN. A month+ ago I ended up in the ER w/severe lower abdominal and pelvic pain. It was terrible pain. The ER admitted me into the hospital. I had 4 separate doctors and a radiologist team all shrug their shoulders. CT & ultrasound showed a huge mass of fluid filling up my entire pelvic area. 5 days later I discharged with no doctor willing to help or send me any type of suggestion as to where I should go. Over a month went by and I went back to one of the 1st Gyn/Onc that was in the hospital for the first 2 days then went out of town. He wasn't thrilled with doing surgery on me. I could not find anything online about fluid sitting in the pelvic.
Long story short, I have gone through the surgery successfully. I found out it was a jelly like substance. Knowing that I hit up the internet again and everything I find is "PMP". However I lost my appendix a bit over 3 years ago due to a bowel obstruction I came close to making it out of. So PMP is showing it's appendix cancer possibly.
Does anyone have an answer to what this "Jelly Belly" thing could be for me. I don't go back to surgeon for a week, but I want to be prepared to ask. Surgeon had never come across my condition either. If I don't get answers, is there a place I should look into going? If this is some sort of cancer I need to know. Still waiting on pathology as well. Is there anything similar to PMP that doesn't involve the appendix? Sorry for my long post. This is worrying & consuming me.
Thank you in advance!

Brief Answer:
Pathology report can guide us regarding the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
A collection of a jelly like fluid in the pelvis can be related to a cancer. This is an abnormal collection and its origin can be from appendix stump, intestines or from the pelvic organs like ovary. The pathology report can help in guiding the cause and nature of the fluid that was collected.
After the recovery from the surgery, you need to go for regular MRI scans to detect any lymph node swelling or any re collection of the fluid.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
