Question: Hi, I'm Soubhik from XXXXXXX younger brother of my brother and he has been taking spasmo proxyvon for 7 years almost now. As he takes it he looks drowsy and speaks abnormally. I as a brother want him to save his life and want him to quit this addiction. Please suggest a remedy that I can prepare at home or with food which relaxes the addiction. Or what would be the best next step, since he doesn't want to visit a doctor also else I would have taken him there. But I want to save him from this danger. Please suggest.

Thanking You.

Hi Sensoubhic77,
Thanks for the query.
Spasmoproxyvon has a opiod ingradient that makes it habit forming.
* Ideal way to take your brother off the addiction..is to consult a physician working in de-addiction center.
He would be throughly examined to know the depth of addiction &given specific deaddicting drugs&then slowly withdraw them off.
*If you want to do it at self level.it's going to be a long&patience testing effort.A strong determination on his part too would help.
-learning Yogic meditation practises &get a control of one's mind to control the whim of eating the pill...thus tappering the drug slowly off is possible.
* I feel both the medicinal&self efforts would work better.
Hope, that helps.Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.

Hi doctor, thanks for your message and valuable suggestions. What I observed is his self realisation to reduce the addiction isn't active at this moment, that's why maybe he doesn't want to visit a doctor. So in that case, how can I help him to reduce. Since Ive lost my father long ago so literally I don't have any support to help me. So almost everything possible I've to do to recover him for any amount time it takes. I'll be grateful to see your best suggestion that absolutely helps me.

Thanks again for your advice.

Will look ahead to ur valuable suggestion that will help me save him.

Thankfully.

Brief Answer:
See for some alternatives to make him positive.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.Sensoubhik77,
I understand your concern.
In case he is not willing to go to a doctor..you can contact a counselor...who can meet him casually & slowly&steadily make him positive& co operative.
Similarly you can take help of de-addiction support group...take him to the meetings with you.The atmosphere would make him positive for de-addiction.
You can slowly&steadily reduce the dosage of spasmoproxyvon...replacing it with placebo, similar looking capsule ...having some multivitamin content.(ask your family doctor for the exact preparation.
Or take him to doctor unknowingly for advise of deaddictive drug&it's dosage.
Get him involved in some activity/Rehabilitation.
Don't allow him to mix with addicted persons/friends
*As he mixes with the people with good habits..starts working with them..he would cultivate good thoughts &would be ready to go to a doctor..
*If you feel above things do not click...you have to take him to deaddiction centre forcefully.
only for his good.
I hope that helps.
Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.

Hi Doctor, thanks again for your valuable feedback. I'll be grateful if you could please suggest me alternative/substitute medicine to spasmo that I can replace with. Since he is govt employee so he gets opportunity to purchase often. So it would be grateful if I could replace his stock with a substitute recovery medicine you suggest. Or maybe if you could provide a contact number of best medicine practitioner I'll be glad to speak to him/her for recovery.

Thanks again & my regards to you

Hi Sensaubhik77,
Thanks for follow up query. I understand your concern.

Detoxification from opiate containing drug-like Spasmoproxyvon...needs the consumption of drug like Naltrexone ..(dose again suitable for the severity of addiction&general health of the patient.). It should be taken after the complete stoppage of spasmoproxyvon. Combining both drugs would be hazardous. He will also need drugs for controlling withdrawal symptoms.(restless legs, anxiety or depression as &when needed)

All of these adjustments need the consultation of a local psychiatrist...
We, the doctor's advising on our site..are not supposed to prescribe medicines(for that needs a direct assessment to patient.)I am sorry for not able to give a prescription-.
You should get an online assessment of a confirmed known expert psychiatrist doctor from your local family physician. Taking the treatment without consultation may prove hazardous.

I hope that clears your point. Any follow up query is welcome.
Thanks.
