Question: Hi, I have a question for an OB/GYN. I have stage 4 endometriosis and uterine polyps, I started my menstrual cycle on 1/10/20. Starting at 2300 I started profusely bleeding going through a super plus tampon and super pad every 1/2 hour to hour. In a 24 hour period I’ve soaked through 20 super plus tampons and 12 pads. I have had this happen before and required a transfusion and surgery. I don’t want to rush to the Er if I don’t have to. I am weak, tired, short of breath, sweating, HR is 115-134....do I need to go to the ER or can I deal with this at home?

Brief Answer:
Please go to the ER immediately.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have read your notes.

You are having severe bleeding. The uterine polyps must have caused this bleeding. With the heart rate that you have mentioned, it appears like you may go into shock , if you are not treated.
Please call the ambulance immediately. If somebody can drive you to ER, that will be fine to.
You will need blood transfusion and surgery.

If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
