Question: Hi
I am 16th weeks Pregnant. Unfortunately, my weight isn't increasing at all. before starting my pregnancy , since I am a PCOD patient, I reduced it from 72 to 68 kgs and later it was reduced to 63 kgs. I am 63 kgs for these 4 months. I am eating well, no nausea as such. Starting this 4th month, my hairfall has increased so much, that I am scared of combing my hair. I don't see pregnancy belly at all. However I see the change in my breasts size.
This is IVF pregnancy, so I am taking lots of medicines everyday. Starting 2nd trimester, doc stopped Estradiol and started with Iron and Calciums meds.
I am due for ultrasound on 10th Dec. And doctor has said that weight should increase 2 kgs per month. I am damn worried.
Is my baby Ok?
Kindly guide.

THanks

Brief Answer:
Your next scan will clear all your doubts

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Greetings
Your tummy will be half way from umbilicus around 16 weeks.
weight gain also is more evident after 14 weeks only.since there is no bleeding nothing to worry.
All medicines are to support your pregnancy.
Are you having low thyroid levels?
if so correcting that would help you to reduce hair fall.
your next scan will clear all your doubts.
Feel free to ask your doubts with more details.

Hi Doctor

No I dont have low thyroid levels. TSH is 4.29 .
Your tummy will be half way from umbilicus around 16 weeks. What does this exactly mean.
Also I am already 16 weeks, so there should be atleast some weight gain like 1 kg.

THanks

Brief Answer:
You will need thyroxin medication

Detailed Answer:
Hi
At 16 weeks your tummy will be half way between pubic hair line to umbilicus.
Your TSH is a bit high in pregnancy.will need to discuss with your obstetrician and may need to take a small dose of thyroid hormone.
If you are really worried get the ultrasound scan early.
