Question: Hello My dad is 75 years old, and is taking medication of high blood pressure from past many years which is XXXXXXX XXXXXXX Vati (one tablet daily) as prescribed by a Ayurvedic doctor. His pressure remained normal thereafter all these years. During these years some days he would miss out on XXXXXXX XXXXXXX Vati as he felt his pressure was normal. He got his B.P checked regularly and was always normal around 138/80.
A few days back he started feeling some kind of a heaviness on his left side near the stomach or abdomen. This heaviness was only felt during walking and not lying down and sitting or riding a scooter etc. It was only felt while walking. On advise of the doctor a complete ultrasound check up and everything was found to be normal as the doctor stated.
On 11 September he got a fever of 102 F and sore throat, for which he went to a doctor who gave him Nucoxia P, Precef 250, Cyra D and Aerodil CP for four days. (He says his sore throat was due to eating a citrus fruit). The temperature reduced immediately but the B.P increased to 195/90. The urine and toilet are all fine. There is no constipation or any other problem. The heaviness on his left side reduced slightly. But since taking these four medicines stated above from 11 September he is feeling a lot of weakness in his body. I am worried about the weakness. Could you please advise what I should do?

Brief Answer:
Chance of having angina pain, requires investigations

Detailed Answer:
Hi, XXXX XXXXXXX
Thanks for posting query.
I wonder how you can give medicine which is not authentic and do you know this Ayurveda medicine has any statistical data of having effective against blood pressure ?
As you said blood pressure remained under control but this might be due to some salt restriction, diet etc.
This means blood pressure of your father remained untreated for so many years and now there might be having coronary insufficiency giving this angina type pain.
He might require EKG, TMT and if require Angiography.
There are all chances of having angina as there is typical history of having pain and discomfort during exertion or walking.
Consult cardiologist or physician and get him examined and investigated.
I hope, I answered your query.
If you have further query or clarification, please write back.
Sorry for giving un like advice but I should say It happens in XXXXXXX only !
Wish your father's speedy recovery.

Thank you for your reply. I forgot to mention that my dad also has a lot of belching (loudly) during the day. His stool and urine are all normal. Iam sorry but i am asking that if it is possible that the pain is due to gas in the stomach? He has never had any chest pain.

Brief Answer:
You can give Omeprazole or rantac for gas but EKG is advisable

Detailed Answer:
Hi, XXXX XXXXXXX
Thanks for posting query again.
Any discomfort or pain in stomach at this age with having blood pressure, should not taken lightly.
Even chest pain is not there, with this problem primarily EKG should be done.
If this problem might be due to gas or some stomach upset, nothing is serious but even if 10 % of problem is due to some coronary problem, it might create big problem.
You can give medicine like Omeprazole or Rantac for gas trouble, but in my opinion EKG is a must.
I hope I answered your query with your satisfaction.
If you have further clarification, please write me back.
Ok and take care.
